SEO Project Readiness Checklist
Define the business goal, evidence and ownership before commissioning SEO work.
Define the outcome
Name the service, product or market that needs improvement. Specify a business outcome such as qualified enquiries or product purchases, and identify the page types involved.
Capture the baseline
Record relevant landing pages, search performance, conversion definitions and recent site changes. Note missing access or unreliable measurement.
Identify the constraint
List the suspected technical, content, authority or measurement issue, the evidence supporting it and what would disprove it.
Assign ownership
Name the person who can approve content, change templates, deploy fixes and verify results. Identify dependencies before promising a completion date.
Define acceptance
Write what must be delivered and how it will be checked. Distinguish completing an implementation from observing a later search outcome.
Record the next action
Finding: ___. Evidence: ___. Owner: ___. Due date: ___. Acceptance check: ___.
